Majors series turns nasty

KITCHENER — They don’t have a whole lot in the way of security at Jack Couch Park.
The way this Intercounty Baseball League playoff series is heading, they better start beefing it up.
The London Majors blew a two-run lead in the ninth inning of Game 3 and lost 8-7 to the Kitchener Panthers in 10 before a crowd of about 300 Sunday afternoon.

The Majors finished just below the Panthers, fifth overall with an 18-18 record. The Panthers finished 20-16. Head to head with London the Panthers have won 3 of 5 in close contests. Neither team has won by more than three runs in a victory, minus the most recent win London took over the Panthers that ended in a 20-4 loss and included a bench clearing brawl. The best of seven play off show down will begin Thursday July 22 at Jack Couch, moving to London's Labatt Park on Friday July 23, and back home in Kitchener on Sunday July 24th.
